Code of Ethics

A large part of PTI's success may be attributed to our reputation in the marketplace for quality service and for the values and principles that guide our business relationships, including our strong sense of ethics.  This Code of Business Ethics represents our formal commitment to the principles of honesty, integrity, and fairness in everything we do, so that as a company our activities reflect positively on the marketplaces we serve, the community, and on ourselves.  This Code applies to all of our directors, officers, employees, independent consultants and agents, wherever they are located and whether they work for PTi on a full- or part-time basis, and  any natural person who owns an interest in PTi or who acquired an ownership interest through any means.

These principles have been in effect since our inception in 1999 and are simply the re-statements of our long-standing policy that all business conducted by our employees and representatives will be conducted in compliance with all applicable laws and the highest ethical standards.  One simple reason for upholding the highest level of business ethics is that our continued success as a company depends on it.  In the technology industry, any legal or ethical violation has the potential to damage our reputation.  Therefore, this Code applies to ALL electronic systems owned by PTi or operated by PTi on behalf of our clients, including but not limited to, computer systems, database servers, e-mail systems, file servers and local or wide area networks.

PTi is committed to advancing the ethical and responsible use of all computing resources, and will not tolerate illegal, dishonest, improper, or irresponsible use.  We hire talented people with high integrity who are committed to doing the right thing at all times.  In order to fulfill our mission of being a technology partner to our clients, we must be granted access to confidential and privileged electronic information systems. This access imposes the responsibility and obligation upon us to use the systems in an ethical, professional, and legal manner that is strictly within our authorized job functions.  In exchange for the privileges granted, PTi agrees to abide by the following standards: 
 

• To take every reasonable precaution to prevent unauthorized access to any passwords, user identifications, or other information that may be used to access the systems.
• To limit access to information contained in or obtained from the systems to authorized persons.
• To treat all confidential information within the systems as such and use such information in an honest and fair manner.
• To seek guidance from clients and immediate supervisors whenever we are unsure of the correct decision regarding appropriate use, confidentiality, or access, and do to so BEFORE we take any action on the technology issue in question.
• Not to share, record, transmit, alter, delete, or in any way modify information in these systems except when required to perform our duties.
• To report incidents of non-compliance with the terms of this agreement to appropriate company and client personnel.
